Unhappy Transmission help please!!

Okay so here's the deal-

My 06 SS/SC Cobalt got raced at the track once and now 2nd gear is grinding like no other, so I'm thinking the second gear syncronizer is shot to hell. All the other gears are fine.

That being said- Any thoughts on what else it could be? Should I get this one rebuilt or is there a place to buy a low mileage tranny to just replace it?

Any info will be a great help!

Thanks guys

Shelby

yea i would think that it would be your sync is out, i know you can buy a brand new trany from ZZP for like 700. But its the LNF trans with would still be good because the the gear ratio is much better with the LNF. If you want to stick with the stock trans, look on ebay.

So would the LNF trans be better with an upgraded clutch? Because I put an upgraded clutch and fly wheel in it last month. Also, are the SS/SC trans the only ones that will work in these cars or are there others that will work also? (Probably a stupid question but I dunno lol)

Yea, if it was me, i would go ahead and buy a LNF trans, Better gear ratio. And i dont know of any other cars trans that would work in our cars.
