OBD not reading!

I went to autozone to get my check engine light checked and 2 of the autozone's said that they couldn't read it, saying it was a bad connection. Anybody had this problem before or know what to do to fix it?

Try a different scanner? Had this problem with my gf's subaru. Couldn't read it with my scanner but worked fine with my fathers one...
