Need help from GM tech or GM employee

Last year about this time, my transmission failed.
Car is an 06 SS/SC with the G85 LSD option.
The dealer replaced the transmission.
Once back, I wondered if the LSD was indeed part of the replacement.
Part # of the replacement trans was 55560938.
The car never seemed like it had LSD thereafter.
BTW.....I have installed an LSD (AKA Torsen) in my FWD Calais, so I know what the unit looks like, and I know what it performes like.
My SS/SC "seemed" like it had the same feel after the replacement. But I was never sure.....
In other words, it didn't seem to try to spin the inside tire on a tight turn under power.

So now I have Stage 2 installed. Oodles of torque in 2nd gear under power. I now notice that the car spins the inside tire in a tight corner under power.......a lot!

The LSD should not allow that to happen. At all.

I'm back to wondering if the correct trans with LSD got installed.

I would appreciate it if a tech or GM employee could look up that part number and tell me if that indeed, it is the LSD trans.

I have checked the replacement trans, and have seen the LSD sticker on it. Means nothing if it's a re-manufactured trans from GM. The correct differential could have been left out.

I just might have to pull an axle and look through the carrier. A Torsen has no cross pin, a std trans does.

But before that, I'd like to have someone check the part number.

Any help out there?

I'll also post this on the other site.

Thanks,

Ron

The only information I can get off of GMDealerWorld is that part number 55560938 is a transaxle with a 4.05 gear ratio, which you already knew. Sorry I cant be of anymore help.

if you can look on top of the tranny it will have a sticker with #'s and it should say lsd if it doesnt then might not be because i installed one in md and it said all these #'s and had a lsd in that sequence

Hey guys,

Thanks for the responses.
I figured out that I did get the correct trans, and it does include the LSD.
The sticker on the top says LSD as well.
