warranty

yo wuts up everyone new here. I just bought an 07 cobalt coupe black, stick. Its and LS but i wanted to gradually make it into an SS. Now if i buy GM parts and have them installed at a GM dealer, if possible, will it affect my warranty. If its not from the dealer will it affect my warranty?

Ok search function is there for a reason, but no GMPP will not viod warranty or it shouldnt make sure your dealer will cooperate with you and if they dont find another dealer, 2) magnuson-moss law prevents an aftermarket part voiding warranty unless its the culprit of the problem and if you are going forced induction go with a turbo.

Yea, the dealer should definately not be able to void your warranty for going with GM parts...if they do then they should all die.

It is a waste of time and money to try and convert an LS into an SS. It is more than just a motor. You would have to basically change everything except the unibody. The motor, trans, axles, brakes, suspension, interior. Everything. I wish people with the base model would quit daydreaming of making it an SS. IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! IF YOU DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY AN SS THEN YOU SURE AS HELL ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO CONVERT AN LS INTO AN SS!!!

Sorry about the tirade.

Then sell it and get an SS if it was given to you. The longer you wait the harder you'll get raped.

Turbo is a good idea, but I prefer mounting the sc to the ls. It carries the warranty and most of everything you need is available from Chevy dealerships.

Here are some links to help you get started: http://www.gm.com/company/gmtunersou...k_to_250hp.pdf

I hope this helps out.
