Talking New Cobalt gets fixed!

Hey guys, I'm a new guy to this forum, I'm coming from Fuelslut.net to here, I got rid of my '00 Trans Am. anyway, I am considering purchasing a 2006 SS/SC red with 1,100 miles on it. But, it has been wrecked. They say the guy that had it before me, ran up on a curb. I know as of today, that the knuckle and axle have been bent. I really hope that this isn't a big deal (the dealership I'm buying from is fixing the car also) and I would be getting a great deal on this vehicle! $15,500 (recaro seats, power windows, sunroof, etc). I heard that an axle being borken or bent, is not a big deal and is easily fixed. But, I am guilty of being a pessimest, and I was hoping I could get some feedback from you guys, because I really want this car considering the deal I can get...and the fact there is not another SS/SC for 400 miles with this kind of mileage. Any feeback will be greatly appreciated !!!

thanks guys!
Jarred

I'd ask to get a second opinion on that car, see if they'd let me take it somewhere else to have it looked at. Something just sounds funny about it to me. If the previous owner only broke an axle, the insurance company would repair it, not total it out for the dealership to end up with it later. And it's just crazy to trade a car in with only 1,100 miles on it because of the accident, unless there was much worse damage (bent frame for example).

Well, I forgot to mention that it was a GMAC Reposessed vehicle, and still has all factory warranties... also the dealership that has the car is an all make/model dealer, they found the car at an auction

I smell fish.....

I would seriously look into taking it to a certified collision center, and not maaco. Get them to do a front end measure to see if the existing frame rail line-up points are correct. Only one thing worse than a bent frameis a twisted frame... or a twisted dealer...

+1, maaco is good for $2000 daily drivers that peopel own while their good car sits in the garage until the weekends, i wouldnt let maaco even give me an estimate on a car, personally
