help installing cold air intake...

Ok, i dont have an SS, i have an LS. I threw on an Injen cai and the check engine light came on. Is this happening to alot of people or what. I cant send it back and i really dont want to just eat 250 so if anyone can help that would be great.. i think the problem might be that the filter is oiled and its throwing the sensor.

I've heard a lot of people have a problem with that but I thought it was mainly the Fujita kits doing it. Probably the air sensor in a bad place.

Probably a stupid question, you did buy the kit for the 2.2L not the 2.0L SS correct?

I have heard of that! I just bought a K&N cai for my ss/sc and i havn't had any problems. I have heard that if the filter has too much oil on it that the cel will come on.

Are you supposed to oil the filter? I had one in my SUV back when I had that and never oiled it. Is that bad?

Sometimes the filter will come out of the box alittle over oiled wich can cause the cel! You are supossed to clean and reoil it every x amount of miles. I dont know the exact amount right off hand.

Its true about not cleaning it and causing the CEL to come on because, unfortunately for me, my other woman is flashing that yellow light at me....

I just whisper to the gauges in a small voice: its ok baby, I know you want to feel fresh but we are trying to make it home after work and I am tired, OK?? Lets just make it home and I promise I'll clean you when I get sufficient time....

But seriously people, it is important to clean and lubricate the filter to prevent damage to the motor from just a little fixable issue.
