Heat, use a hair dryer or heat gun. Warm up the area with the sticker on it (just get it hot to the touch, not hot enough to fry an egg), and then peel off the letters (pull or stretch it at a 45 degree angle away from the surface and the adhesive will come off with the vinyl most of the time). If it leaves adhesive, Goo Gone (Home Depot, Walmart, the gel or liquid, but not the "extreme" Goo Gone) works fine and is safe on the paint (not Goof Off, either, it's a little harsher). You'll probably have to wax afterwards, since the Goo Gone will remove the wax, too.

13 years in the business, on my own since 2002. Just installation and removal though, no production. Can't sit still in front of a computer for very long.

I work at a dealership. I here the request to remove the vinyl all the time. We have other chemicals to do the job, but I don't find them necessary. I just my fingernails to lift and pull away. This takes a few minutes though. Then you can use a cleaner to remove the glue.
