he is rwd but that doesnt mean anything they are just as liable to spin as us but what he lacks is bottom end i dont think they reach max hp until 8500 and max torge at like 5800-6000 so that could be my strong point off the line but after tha would that little jump be enough to edge it all the way out?????

rx8 is at 235 hp
could defineately be close
if its a m/t it will probably catchup
the darn thing redlines at 9000 rpm
id say it will be close
he/she could pass you while you are shifting into 2nd but you will be in your power band when he/she shifts
you could possibly win if you do it will be a murder

stock for stock the ss/sc is more than capable of beating an rx-8. from a roll, you will pull steadily, and from a dig you would need to launch well.

rx-8's aren't straight line cars. 50/50 weight distribution, rwd, + some other goodies make it a handling machine.

here's some times i found 14.9 at unkown mph, 14.703 @ 93.90, 14.58 @ 94.55, 14.200 @ 95.200, 15.010 @ 91.667.

seems like a 14 - 15 sec car but the trap speeds are low - mid 90's where as an ss/sc should trap mid to high 90's. so, like i said, outlaunch him or race him from a roll.

Rotaries are a blast to drive though

SS should take it, they're not built for dragging... probably stunning in twisties/auto-x though, but I've never driven one hard
