Badly. When I was stock I raced a 2000 camaro with just exhaust and 3 passengers in his car and i still lost by like 4 car lengths. (and he had just learned how to drive a stick)

Stock for stock its 320 RWHP (about 3450lbs) vs 220 FWHP (2900 lbs) So you winning would be basically defying phsyics.

Its not impossible, theres a recent video on here of a guy SPANKING an LS1 GTO, but without a stage 2+ of some kind don't even waste your gas.

The secret is picking the right speed to start from, shifting perfectly, and intelligent modding.

Hmmm, i don't forsee any chance unless he's an automatic. I'm not that familiar with the LS1 powerband but i know they have a VERY tall first gear.

It all depends on who is the better driver. If he is the better driver or you both are about the same, i would suggest you start from a 40mph roll (you will be in 2nd gear and right in your powerband).

If you are the better driver, i would recommend trying from a dead stop.

Either way, not trying to be a jerk, but don't get your hopes up and DONT put money on it.

i raced an 02 SS camaro from a 45 roll and he completly wasted me i lost by 6 or 7 cars that was at 100 mph and he was still pulling hard on me, i was stock then im not sure what his mods were if he had any at all. i think you would need at least stg2 to get him. but good luck if you race him

rally yellow cobalt ss/sc
mods: injen cai, poly tranny mounts, vibrant performance header/dp w/ highflow cat, corsa sport exhaust, custom tune

the only bad thing about racing an f-body is that it is rear wheel drive. weight transfer plays into the hands of the camaro, and not to us. If you have stage 2, I know you can beat a 93-97 camaro, but they have the LT1. So, the LS1 (better heads, cathedral ports, aluminum block, etc.) is definitly the Hoss when it comes to power, and if its 6 speed, he definitly has some more gearing to climb into higher speeds. dont try it.

He'll murder you from a dig or a roll. If you run stage2 you will still lose but it wont be murder.
