1990 300ZX/NA vs 2005 SS/SC

On the way to work there is this 2 mile 4 lane stretch of road, no entrances or anything just flat out straight pavement . If its clear I mash the right pedal and go.

Today there was a 300 just in front of me and I didn't want to just flyby so I just went for a simple pass. We looked at each other as I went to pass and I heard em drop to second, I smiled and dropped, he heard that and took off,

40, he got the jump and I'm at his door
50, we're even
60, I begin to pull
65, I hear him miss his shift and I chuckle just a little.

Nope, I've got the stage 2.

I must be in need of driver mod It was over fairly quickly though. After I heard him grind his gears I coasted.

When I pulled into work he followed, turns out we work at the same plant, he asked if I was modded. Told him I had the smaller pulley and tune

"no wonder you went right by, I liked to see how you do against my truck"

"How many horsies?"

"close to 400 it's got........" he then began to rattle off a bunch of initials and numbers that went right over my head all I recognized was intake and exhaust. n00b

"Sounds like it'll eat my poor little car" trying not to sound to clueless.

"I'll bring it out friday, maybe we'll see each other again" He smiled and went to the other end of the factory.

Haven't seen him since. Eh, we'll see.......

Don't feel too bad about not knowing stuff. This is a good place to ask questions.
