Well, reportedly there are a few already running in the 10s but here is the only actual close 10 second run I've seen out on video. I'm sure in the next few months there will be a surfacing of quite a good bit of 10 second cars. This one is running a S3R upgrade and I'm sure some weight redux. This run wasn't really even getting into what this set-up can do. He is running NRGY products, S3R, weight redux, stock axles, no nitrous, no HOM, W/I, running 25 psi and holding 21-22 at redline.
1.6 short times is impressive for a street FWD IMO. If you notice, the trap speeds, they are right there with what guys in big turbo SRTs run that only turn out high 11's or low 12's. Traction and set-up is the key.
that's awesome... but with enough money any car can run 10's... i have some vids of a focus, mini-van, civic, truck running 10's
Well yeah any car can be made fast. Thats not the point. The point is, all the talk on all major forums is a SRT hasn't hit a 10 yet or can't hit 10's. This video is just to show, "we are knocking on the doors" of being a 10 second car. In the past few moonths SRTs have leaped from running low 12's with big turbos or S3R and now they are running low to mid 11's. Whats even more respectful about this video is the fact that he is just using S3 with no HOM and no nitrous. Just W/I, NRGY work, S3R, weight redux, S3R coilovers, light weight wheels and slicks all on stock axles. Owner said this isn't anywhere near this cars potential. Not bad for a door slammer and still being plenty streetable IMO.
