Here are some pics of my Cobalt SS after I smoked the taillights. The lights look brighter in person, my camera isn't that good. Plus I didn't have anyone to step on the brake so I couldn't get the third brake light lit and the lights to brighten.

Smoking the taillights is a some what difficult process if you don't have some body shop resources. To be honest my father doesn't even want me telling anyone how we do it because we do it for many of our clients, and the way we do it looks the best, lasts the longest, and not too many people do it this way or even know about this, but hey were all Cobalt owners here. Plus you still have to have the "technique". So don't think it's nightshades or w/e. What we do is we actually mix up some clear coat and tint the clear with some black or w/e color you want. The darkness or shade you want them to be depenedns on how much of the color you put it. Another factor is how many coats you put on, what air pressure you spray at, how even you coat it, and a few other things. But be sure to wet sand all the lights with some 1000 grit before you spray or your gonna have some serious issues. They have to be completley dull before you apply your topcoat. So thats it, I also smoked the side markers as well. If anyone wants them done you can send me you taillights and it can be done.
