A friend of mine just got his 09 SS the other day, and I picked mine up today. His has the USB radio, where mine does not. On Chevy's website it lists the USB radio as being standard on the SS. Anybody else run across this? I'm taking it back to the dealer on Monday and hoping they'll just swap it out, but I just wanted to see if anybody else had encountered this before.

UUI was an option code for the 2009, which included the USB input on the radio, on 2010 MY SS it is standard

The Cobalt page on Chevy.com lists the USB as a standard feature on the SS for 2009 & 2010. We took a screenshot of it and are going to print it out when we go down there. Standard is standard, so I'm hoping they don't give us a hard time about it.

I'm sure they will give you a hard time, the hard time will be telling you that was an option code UUI, look at your friends window sticker. All Cobat SS's received "upgrade" radio standard over base (subwoofer in the back, 200 or w/e watts it is), UUI added the USB and that was the option.

In 2010 because they do not plan on producing the SS much (going to have low numbers), most previous "options" are standard features right now. But the sticker price is also higher. Chevy's website hasnt had a 2009 listed in several months btw..its 2010 only.

Your right Standard is Standard...Which is exactly what you received while your friend either has a 2010, or has a 2009 w/ option code UUI which he paid "extra" for.

You can go to Chevy's site right now and look at 2009 Cobalts . . . here's a screenshot from approximately three minutes ago, with the part regarding the radio.

Notice the 100 option in Interior

And HERE :

Notice what is "standard" (aux input) and what is "available" (usb input). The USB was not a standard feature in 2009. You drove your car, saw all its options...now your upset because you didnt get it. Take some responsibility for YOUR purchase....

So, in one area they list it as a standard feature and one area it's "available". Also, the $100 "option" is automatically checked, presumably because it is advertised as a STANDARD feature.

I freely admit that I should have noticed it. However, it is advertised as a standard feature right up front. So, I guess I'll see if they can work with me on it.

No need to get shi**ty britches about it.

I dropped it off at the dealership to address some issues I had when the car was purchased and showed them the screenshot that says it is a standard feature. My salesman showed it to his manager and they said they would get it taken care of. Really looking forward to it, as the AUX sucks after I've g***en so used to a fully integrated iPod interface.
