Has anyone gotten a CEL for (Leaning out) on the Cobalt SS/SC. I have seen others get this code and wondering how it was fixed. My car gets it when I am doing 50-60km/hr sometimes then goes off. Can you get the dealer too adjust your fuel trim levels? Is it a faulty MAF sensor? The code comes on with the stock filter/K&N (E-1009). I have my car in now too change the MAF sensor....Could someone please help.....

I just ordered a K&N Typoon from Modern Peformance and want the car running properly....Colin :(

Could of POSSIBLY been caused by the K&N if you had it on there... I would assume you havent had to clean it... It pretty rare for them to come over oiled... K&N seems pretty good about that... May just be a faulty MAF sensor... The MAF is a very sensitive component... Not uncommon for them to fail on any car.

I'd say about 50% of the RLs that put some kind of CAI on threw a lean code (i'm the exception throwing rich codes  ) but if it was just the K&N filter, I don't think I've heard that before. But, the MAF goes apeshit when as little as one spec of oil lands on it, so that could have been a problem.

Well I just bought the K&N filter and dropped it in. I talked too K&N and they said they don't get over-oiled from the factory...So a CAI on the RL sets off the lean code sometimes eh? I guess the Cobalt is the same? I think GM needs too address this problem as this is the only car I have had do this BS....My dad has a LT1 95 Camaro with a intake (K&N) and MAF and no problems....Hopefully the Stages 1/2 from GM will fix this problem? Colin :D

The stage 1 recal should fix this because it is rumored to relax the DTC sensitivity. The reasons that CAI's set codes is because of the way that the air flows over it sometimes too. With our MAF, it's is so sensitive right now, that its getting codes probably fro this.

Well I hope your right because it is an anoying problem....I will order the stage 2 probaly. I want too run in the high 13's if possiable...I have run a 14.5 at 98.55mph stock with a 2.275 60ft....I hope the K&N Typoon helps the timeslip. When I talked too K&N they said they have had no CEL's with the intake installed. I just got a new MAF sensor installed today and no codes the car runs smooth....Colin
