they are proven stock motors for being reliable. There arent many modded eco-techs out there because theres no aftermarket you can build a 500 horse v-tec on a reasonable budget and you cant do that with a eco-tech.

and hopefully people will not start to rev to redline and when they shift they scream "ECOTEC!!!"

WRONG.
One is an engine, the other is a variable valve timing and lift system using a special camshaft or 2 with two sets of lobes for intake and exhaust. So you were kinda half right :p

I have owned two, 1991 integra, 1996 integra (1.8 VTEC) ;)

Nice cars lasted long, wouldn't own another if I want to go fast in the 1/4 mile and drive it daily. If I was going to just race it then their not bad.
