you dogg out one similar then go back and say I want that one and point to a totally different car.
I went to 4 Dodge dealerships before I found one that would 'really' let me drive the car. (No dealers had a Cobalt before I deployed, I tried 3 and that was in Feb...of course, nothing)
So those dealers wouldn't let me drive the way I wanted so as soon as we pulled right back into the lot I got out of the car told my wife to come on, we got into our other car and I told the salesman I was going to go spend my money somewhere that actually let me drive the car, I don't want to go test drive a performance car without at least being able to get on it a little bit. When I test drive I want to be impressed, I want the car to sell itself, not the salesmans rehearsed speach.

I will be driving one of these very shortly when I return home...buying sometime after. Mitsubishi would not even let me get into an EVO, my buddy went to the same dealership with a $10,000 certified check, they wouldn't let him test drive so then he whips out the check and is like cool, I guess I now have to go put this down payment on a Dodge or a Chevy....he then had 4 salesmen follow him to his car.

Salesmen CAN be assholes! And I know thats stereotypin but lots of em are! Funniest thing I ever saw was my buddy (we were younger) arguing with the dealer because they wouldnt test drive a brand new Vette!! Dealer was like what would you put down for collateral? Ricky steps back real pimp style and gestures towards his truck, the dealer was like I dont think that will cut it! Ricky was like WTF? It went on for a few minutes and I was rollin LMAO by the time it was over!!! :D

I saw my uncle do some stuff like this before, kinda, (he's loaded and buys a new truck every year regardless)
So we go to the local Ford dealer right after we got done working on his new garage. Lookin' dirty and what not, so my uncle says I want that truck, it's marked at around $25-30,000, and they were like ok well what do you want to do for a downpayment, none my uncle says..I want it anyway, and I'm going to drive it too. Brand new salesman, says well How about we try a lower priced truck because I don't think you can really afford this one. So we hop in my car and drive to the other Ford dealer about 10 miles down the road, buys practically the same truck straight out. Drives back to the 1st dealer the next day with the sticker still on the window, finds the salesman and said well you didn't give me enough time to pull out my checkbook before you took one look at me and said I wasn't rich enough to buy your truck. Have a good day.

I just test drove a Blue Cobalt SS last night and let me tell ya, those things are pretty damn qucik. The tire spin is kinda annoying, but its a good thing. I could chirp the tires in 3rd gear. I was laying into it too,...the salesman told me to, and I was going to listen...;) Its so smooth too, a much more refined car than the SRT-4, don't get me wrong, they are faster, but kinda rough. It had the LSD and Rearco seats putting the MSRP at around 22,800. I wanted to buy it, but i would rather get one down the road like in the fall. The dealership was selling them for 3k-4K OVER MSRP, and told me that they can only keep the cars for an hour or so before they sold them. Overall, these cars are the " Hot Buy" of the spring for chevy...lol. Kudos to those who own one already. Sweet ass cars.

of course its fun to go test drive cars you have not intention on buying or wouldn't buy...cause I don't think half of us here would want to own one of the cars we took on a test drive.... maybe someone test drove your car like that before you bought it.
