Are you at least going to tell us the specs on the Vette??? I believe in SOME cases the cobalt, or srt would be faster (with just a Few goodies), I know I waxed an 89 with an SRT, But I dont think that was on to brag on seeing how I had more hp/tq, so what does yours have???

Damn i cant believe someone just gave you that!

there was a lot involved in it. he wanted to sell it but he won't be able to get over 13-14k from it, so it was given away for advertising purposes to claim on taxes. that way i get me rwd car that i wanted and he gets some $$$ off his taxes this year.

as for the specs i haven't really looked anything up yet, i know it has 300hp, but that's all. but the engine and suspension are being rebuilt. it's got about 50k miles on it so it's still in good shape, but jmc007 showed me the procharger for the mustangs, and it so happens they build a kit for the corvette's, so i'm going to spend the car money on the procharger kit.(which will put it up to between 465-480hp) hopefully i will be able to order all the parts within a month, because i plan on starting the breakdown in a couple of days :D

So many mods out for the C4 it's ridiculous.

You just may have a devil in your electrical system, though. A buddy of mine had a C4 for a little less than a year. He had so many electrical problems that it spent most of that time in his garage. He was happy to get rid of it, especially for the C5 he has now (which has brake problems).

Still a sweet car, congrats on the new addition to the family :D

Given you already said this i cant say what i wanted to say, so i guess ill just say you should play the lottery or something. Nice Vette is it a 6spd?

very nice, the LT1 is a great engine and has a ton of potential. Get some long tubes and a nice exhaust and bask in the v8 goodness that spews forth. Someone inquired on the speed of these. The 93 vette turns high 13 second 1/4 mile time stock. The 89 that was refferenced had a different engine.

The 89 and the 93 Vettes are two completely different animals. The LT1 is a great engine, and with an intake manifold, heads and cam you could turn that engine into an LT4 which came in the GranSport Vettes. The HP potential is up to 400hp with the LT4 conversion. You keep the driveability too. At 50k miles I wouldn't waste money rebuilding anything. Especially the engine, it's newly broken in. New upgraded shocks would be all the suspension needs until you start making serious power.

The older corvette's arent that fast. I bet if he raced that corvette in his cobalt s/c ss right now, the cobalt would take it. It does have a lot potential though. I just hope that is doesnt have the cross-fire injection! Does everyone remember how much proplems that chevy had out of those! I think they stoped using them in 89. Can anyone acknowledge this?

I believe cross-fire was only availabe from '82 through '83. I've got a friend who used to have an '82 Z28 with cross-fire, almost bought it from him years ago, too. I never personally worked on it, but from what I heard it was a nightmare to tune.

it's running pretty rough, hell we had to push start it cause it's been sitting in the garage for over a year and not started... i'm going to be doing a complete rebuild on it starting this month some time, and more than likely gonna buy one of those procharger kits to put on it, since i have the extra $$$ now.

from the way it looks, it's gonna be one hell of alot of work to pull this engine lol

but the engine ans suspension are all i'm doing, other than just replacing the worn out parts, and having someone else paint the front end.
