So tomorrow I'm heading down to pick up an '05 SS fully loaded except for OnStar. The salesman told me it's the only SS in California with the G85 package. I don't think i've ever been this excited.

I was wondering though...I ordered an SS from another dealer with G85 and I have no clue when it's coming in or where it is in the ordering process..will I still be able to get my $500 deposite back from them when I cancel my order?

probably wont get the deposit back, thats why they make you pay it to begin with. better call ASAP and ask - congrats on your purchase. i just got mine, and trust me you are going to absolutely love the car.

If it's the red SS at Harbor Chevrolet in Long Beach then your salesman isn't lying.

Most states have consumer protection laws that forbid dealers keeping your deposit if you back out of a deal, check with your local consumer protection agency, however if you signed an agreement that states that; “you will forfeit your deposit if you back out” then you are at the dealers mercy.
Just tell them that you lost your job and can't afford it now but will be back when you can and they will probably refund your dough if they are any kind of a respectable operation, whatever you do don't tell them that you bought an SS from another dealer.

The salesman is telling the truth.

Currently there is only a red one in Long Beach on the ground. There are 3 on the way to california that have already left the plant. 2 red and one Black with g85. The black one is going to "Bob Barker Chevrolet" El Canjon, Ca. The red ones are going to Maurice Sopp & son Chevrolet Bell, Ca and Ostrum Chevrolet Montebello, Ca. If either one is yours you better wait. If not call dealer and tell them you need it now or you will go elsewhere.

Ya, I'm going down today to pick up the one from Harbor Chevrolet. I'll call up the other dealer and tell them I'm out of a job i guess and hopefully they'll give me my $500 back.
