Ok, i dont have an SS, i have an LS. I threw on an Injen cai and the check engine light came on. Is this happening to alot of people or what. I cant send it back and i really dont want to just eat 250 so if anyone can help that would be great.. i think the problem might be that the filter is oiled and its throwing the sensor.

I have heard of that! I just bought a K&N cai for my ss/sc and i havn't had any problems. I have heard that if the filter has too much oil on it that the cel will come on.

Sometimes the filter will come out of the box alittle over oiled wich can cause the cel! You are supossed to clean and reoil it every x amount of miles. I dont know the exact amount right off hand.

Its true about not cleaning it and causing the CEL to come on because, unfortunately for me, my other woman is flashing that yellow light at me....

I just whisper to the gauges in a small voice: its ok baby, I know you want to feel fresh but we are trying to make it home after work and I am tired, OK?? Lets just make it home and I promise I'll clean you when I get sufficient time....

But seriously people, it is important to clean and lubricate the filter to prevent damage to the motor from just a little fixable issue.

so did you get the drop in filter or a CAI? Your light was comming on because you were pulling to much air and the ecu didnt know why. you should be able to get the code cleared off and you should be good after that. Or like someone say maybe your MAP is messed up

i heard that if you unhook the negative battery terminal, then hook back up it re sets the sensor. i havent personally done it but my friend did it with his truck and he said it made the engine light go off.
or u can just buy a obdII scanner for 60$ and check all ur lights when the come on so the dealer cant rape u if anyone here actually takes their car to a dealer and u could fix it yourself and also clear the code when ever u like
