here cobalt ss guys you might enjoy this

I don't buy what some magazine says. I own a srt, and for the record I think the SS is a better looking car. But stock for stock, a srt will hand the SS it's ass in a race. But who is going to buy these cars other than to tune them. Come on, everyone of you are waiting for the parts to hit the market, so you can rape a srt-whatever, and you know it. If not you should trade that bitch in. Gm has to realize that it's not just the product you produce, but how you back it. AKA mods, it took mopar awhile so the time is almost up you bastards. It's funning how they talk down on the laguna seats, I'm 6'4" and fit just fine behind the wheel, dumbasses, just take it as it's worth only opinion! Or maybe they just had the oldfarts test the srt, and the young bucks test the ss who knows, who cares. Just don't get caught drive stock and calling me out!!! I'll hurt ya!!

Ive heard a lot of people dissin the Recaro seats in the RL/SS's too but Im like you man, Im just a hair over 6'2" and they fit me PERFECTLY! I LOVE racing seats but hey I guess thats just a preference. I also rode in my buddies SRT and loved his seats as well, oh well everyone has their own opinion I guess.

That story is oooooold. That article is the single reason why people think a Cobalt can run side by side with an SRT. They are not quite as close as they make them out to be in that article.

Remember it was that particular SRT-4! I remember a motortrend article testing at like 13.9. The best I've seen for an SS is 14.4. A half second can make big differance.

Motortrend tested it at [email protected] And why were they complaining about the SRT4's motor being green and not broken in. Wasn't the SS new too?

In the comparison they both managed a 14.4.

Hmmm... sounds like maybe motortrend got a little "incentive".

Thats why I don't get there mags anymore they are always doing things like this. You can tell GM gave more money to them than dodge. I sent MT a email about this.

Yeah, this was discussed in great detail on srtforums. lol The main thing that stands out, like Glock mentioned, is the 0-100 times compared to the 1/4 mile times. According to their stats, it took the SRT 13.8 seconds to get to 100 but then another .6 seconds to get to 100.8 (1/4 mile trap time). It took the Cobalt 14.4 seconds to get to 99.3 (1/4 mile time) but then took a FULL second to go from 99.3 to 100!?!? What a bunch of idiots. I guess that is why I hate mag racers because most mag articles are usually biased in one way or another.

Fixed it for ya. Any number of magazines are better than MT. I like to stick by C&D, as they always seem to know what theyre doing.

scc dose better than MT and they don't like are cars because they are not imports.

SCC seems to think you should dump the clutch at 8 grand of every car they take down the 1/4. I think a 5 year old could get better times out of cars than what they do.

I think the drivers SCC are hacks. Motortrend tends to post times similiar to what I post at the track, with some practice.

So do you really think a Cobalt SS cannot run a 13.9 as well?

If the SRT-4 can pull a 13.9 so can the SS/SC.

I absolutely, positively do NOT think a STOCK Cobalt SS can run a 13.9. I am guessing by your username that you have an SS, so have you ever raced an SRT?
