Just didn't think it would be this kind of SS!! But I'm still SUPER STOKED!!!
Story:
My dad tells me yesterday that his buddy (The guys nickname is Foot
)at work is fixin to build a shop and he needs somebody to wire it for him. My dad offers to wire the shop (he's a certified electrician and does that in his spare time on the side) and says he'll get an estimate to him later. Agreed.
Later on Foot tells him that he has an old car for sale and wondered if my dad knew anybody that was lookin to buy one. My dad asks him what kind of car it was.... 1971 Chevelle
!!!!
Well my dad told him that WE were interested and Foot says that if my dad wires the shop then he will GIVE US THE CAR!!! I was like OH, HOLY SHIT!!!! THAT"S AWESOME!!! My dad said that the size of the shop will be big enough where labor alone will be close to $900 let alone the parts/equipment he'll need to use. So my dad will actually be payin a lil bit for the car over Foot's quoted sale price (once you consider the parts) but still most people wouldn't let go of a '71 Chevelle for $1100-1200!!!! Even if its not an SS!!!
Me and my dad go to check the car out today and my dad and I (we still hadn't asked) still thought it was a regular Chevelle. Not really. It's SS badged inside and out!!! My dad talked to Foot and Foot was like yeah I thought I told you that!?!? The body is in AWESOME condition for a '71, only needs a new front left fender and a hood but hey I want a Cowl hood anyways!!! I'm gonna take the car to ITT if I get to go there and paint it myself. I'm gonna keep it the original color probably. Light blue with the wide white racing stripes!!
We are gonna build it from the ground up, something I have never done so this is gonna be an AWESOME learning experience!!!
This is the paint scheme thats on it now, I only hope that I can paint it to look as good as this car!!!
