I'm looking to get a new car really soon and am torn between the redline, ss, and srt-4. The major contributing factor in what I buy will be price (the cheaper the car, the more money for after market :D ) I've seen the 04 redline for around $15k and the 04 srt's are going for around $17k so its pretty even right now between them (I'd order the almost $2k comp package on the redline to get the lsd, bringing it up to 17k). Just curious how much people are getting the ss's for off the lot.

They're trying to rob you plain and simple. The option for the LSD w/ recaro seats isn't available yet, but you could get one nicely equiped with satellite radio for around 22,500 after taxes and delivery. What I'm most interested in is the stage 1 and stage 2 packages from the factory. Stage 1 230 hp, and stage 2 280 hp. Anyone have ideas on prices?

Hey hotsauce how did you get that deal, and is that out the door price?
I talked to chevy and they insulted me with a base ss for almost 26k. I told them no and that I would go buy a redline instead.
Thats just the price they gave me, The base SS price was in the high 21k and the power sunroof cost me 785 extra. And my family has bought many cars off this dealer so Im not sure if that had anything to do with it, but we got him to knock the price down. The area where people live may have some affect on the price as well.

Unfortunately once a dealer buys the car they can sell it at what ever price they want. even over m.s.r.p.

I would find another dealer...and get it for sticker and no more.

...Now to wait for rebates!

I was told by my dealer not to expect any rebates. He said, if anything, since the market is in such a 'flux' the price mite go down by a couple hundred or maybe 1g, they have been dropping the prices of new cars such as the trailblazer by lowering the sticker 2000, and thats not 2000 under the sticker, thats just a 2000 less sticker. Now if I can get another 1,000 off my car i'd be able to wait a little longer for it...or not.

After driving the RL for a few months, my advise to you would be to get the LSD. Do whatever you have to do to get it. It doesn't matter how much power you have if it all goes up in a one wheel peel. I'll probably be spending close to 3grand to get one put in my car because it NEEDS it.

Thats what I thought. oh well. I ordered mine with the sunroof and xm radio package. with GM empolyee discount (thank you grandpa), and with taxes it came to about $22,000.
Well that is not a bad price considreing the options, that is low for the options that you have on the car because the base model starts at i think around 21,500 or so .
