the best shifting point is the lanch should be at 1800 to 2300 rpms and you redline at 6500 but you should shit at 6300 for the best time
You almost want to shift right at 6k. The fuel cut comes in at just before the redline, and it really screws you up. I cant see it making very useful power after 6k anyway.

Hey
I own a Redline and if I'm pushing it i'll shift around 6200. I'm not sure about the CAI for the SS but I just put the K&N on my ride. It makes the S/C super loud around 4000 when you put your foot into it. But well worth it.....
they havent made an cai for the ss yet i am friend with the autozone manger in my town and perople that work at napa and stuff so when it comes out i will know about it. and you can always check tright on k&n website
this is off the subject but i have to ask anyway. Our diverter valves only allow 12psi is anyone coming out with something to help us surpass that. i mean the guys that want to run samller than 3.25" pulley wont benifit cuz the diverter valve will just stop at 12psi.

what the heck is a diverter valve?
He means the boost regulator (supercharged cars do not have diverter valves, turbo ones do), and no it is not physically limited for boost. The PCM is though...
I am not sure if I am doing this right. I am looking to post a new issue as I did not see this one noted. My parents bought a chevy cobalt SS 2 months ago. Since then they have made 12 calls to the dealer because of issue's with the ignition. The key gets stuck and twice they could not start the car and it was towed back to the dealer returned to them as fixed and they continue to have this issue. One of the tow truck drivers yesterday, when it was again towed because the key would not turn and the car was stuck at a gas pump, the driver said he has been seeing a lot of this with the newer chev's. Does anyone else have this problem or is anyone aware of this issue. Is there another way I need to post this to make it a new issue?
Thank you for your help.

I have had problems starting my new cobalt ss as well. i felt that there was a switch that if the clutch was not fully engaged to the floor that it would not start. so i dont know if this helps your problem but tell them to make sure the clutch is to the floor.
There is a switch, its to keep people from starting their car in gear and havin it take off. I bypassed the clutch switch on my S-10 and remote started it when I accidentally left it in gear..... it ran over a bush at work before it finally stalled. My e-brake is worn so it couldn't hold it.

Disclaimer: I did not really do that, just a made up example! ;)
