IMO, it might be slower only because of the launch. But that initial tire spin should be good enough for a few tenths of a second. The 04-05 Ion Red Line's have run quite a few 14.5 1/4's and a few have dipped into the 14.3-14.4 range stock w/o the LSD. You guys have different tires on, and I don't know if they have the same traction, but the LSD should help with a launch. Everything else is up to the driver. Lemme know what you chevy guys think, cuz after all, I only drive a Saturn .

In my opinion LSD is better on the launch, only because it balances the power to each wheel. It makes the car ie the trans more durable. If a wheel doesn't have traction, lsd will send power to the wheel with grip. Open difs don't, it will send power to the wheel with no grip. The only time you'll notice the LSD is on launch and in a turn. Like when you turn and gun it. Save your money and get one with LSD, you'll thank me later!! :D After driving my srt with LSD, I could never go back to a open diff again. GET THE LSD

Listen to me, get the LSD. You'll thank me later. Drive in the snow&rain, it will pay to have it. I know your not speed racer, but you will probably mod it or drive it like ass maybe 5 percent of it's life. Like I said you won't know it's there till you need it. GM took a lesson from mopar on this, they didn't put the LSD in there for performance, more like durability issue. The only way to make a high powered fwd trans&axles survive is with a LSD. Like making a turn into traffic and accelerating, Lsd money, open dif spinning inside tire. Trust me it's like me asking you which is better regular cobalt or the ss. Which would you get?? LSD will make the trans&axle live a happy life. GET THE LSD. You will thank me latter. :)

Totally agree! I have rode with my friend in his SRT-4 and it has loads of grip, and my girlfriends 1998 2.0L SOHC sedan 3speed auto Dodge Neon will NOT catch grip if it loses traction in the rain!!!! (The rain is the only place it can lose traction in... LOL :D ) It only has 132hp.... think about what you'll be dealin with!
