One of the mods I am planning on doing is this exhaust system but before I do it, is there a chance of getting ticketed for loud exhaust? I put a aftermarket muffler on the cavalier I had and was pulled over twice but thankfully wasn't ticketed and was let off and was told to go back stock but never did lol. Anyways would/could I get a ticket or pulled over for the full exhaust system upgrade?

what i think is bullshit is that we can't have those loud exhausts on our cars, and they make motorcylces right off the fucking assembly line with NO MUFFLERS and they never get harassed.

but anyways, did you have a fart can on your cavy? if so, you deserved to get pulled over. i got military plates so i've never been ticketd for anything. i even got pulled over once (was speeding about 20mph over) and when the cop pulled up behind me he just got back on the road and drove off. i didn't know what to think so i just drove off like it never happened

and yes you can get a ticket for that. it'll just be a fix it ticket though.

As long as you pass smog, you're straight. Some people with loud exhausts get harrassed, but I think it's their fault for driving above 4k rpm everywhere they go.

If a Z06 can be quiet in normal driving, and LOUD as hell at WOT, why would the SS be any different?

No fart can this time lol. I want to performance aspect of the full exhaust system. The sound I could care less about really but it is a nice added bonus. Under normal driving conditions is the system sound like stock or is it loud at all times?

In my province you can be ticketed for the sound level of your car (be it your stero or your exhaust or motor), but only after 11pm. They can pull you over, make you rev your engine to a set rpm value and judge the volume of it at a pre-measured distance. I like that law as it keeps tips down to 3"...lol, still to big in my mind.

They actually can send you somewhere where they test the loudness of your car's exhaust...

Fart cans are a certain FAIL

But other cars like Jetta's, which have a LOW tone, can actually pass.

Basically if it's a high pitched tone, you're screwed!

It all depends on the cop too. I was driving next to a Saleen the other day and I swear it was the loudest exhaust I've ever heard. He wasn't taking it more that 3.5K though. Passed right by a cop with his window down, nothing happened.

Actually the magnaflow "cans" aren't that bad. Good friend of mine has a pair installed on his tiburon (2.7L V6), and it has a decent tone, with little to no raspy/crappyness in it. I've got a magnaflow on the truck (S10 2.2L 4cyl) and it's OK, but I think my custom tip is screwing with the sound...gonna redo that here soon.....Roomate has a magnaflow on his truck as well (another S10, but with 4.3L V6)....he has what is quite possibly the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard, VERY deep, quite at idle and cruise, and very noticable when WOT.......

I personally won't run anything but magnaflow from here out. Excellent quality, decent sound, and super value.
