Haven't seen this posted here yet...so

Not sure if its stock or not but the numbers are impressive.

Not sure why they aren't as quick going down the track though as the SRT. Definatly very capable car.

right click/save as to be considerate please!

Wow, that thing got an extra 4 horses from just a drop in filter, just think about what the full CAI with a TB will do for it!
Yup, small things like a intake, filter, etc or larger exhaust on a forced induction car is always a good thing. Small mods usually give good results on boosted cars vs a N/A car.
Yeah ummm..... the video is on here in another thread but still it is crazy how under rated the hp is in the Cobalt SS and the torque is only 10 below what chevy rated it at.
That's the highest hp I've seen on a Cobalt if it's stock. Although I was dissapointed to see the torque that low? Didn't someone else dyno a stock Cobalt that had over 200 lbs of torque?? I guess you gotta give a little to gain a little, huh? Although for my preferrence, I rather have more torque then hp. But that's just my .02

Right on man. After coming from a Honda where torque is a joke, I have found that torque is what I crave far over hp.
This is my personal experience and opinion only. Colbalt SS is cold air setup already, has a big airbox. If you cut 3 sides wide open, even bottom cover take off, cover with a screen. I bet you can get at less 3hp gain. If aftermarket CAI avaliable, some more HP gain could be expected.

I n my dyno exprience, because don’t have intake kit in hand, so just open cover of airbox, got 3-5 hp gain for few didfferent maker of vehcles. One time I did install a CAI after new 3” catback installed in a WRX. Look like the CAI didn’t increase any hp, but read from dyno report, at 2500rmp~3500rpm increse up to 25 [email protected]
impressive stock HP numbers, right there with the srt, torque is about 60 lbs off though.....

Thats the main reason Im considering lookin for an 02 Camaro SS instead of a Cobalt SS! Mid to low 13's stock easy. Cause of all that torque! And it wouldnt stay stock for long! :D

Yeah but then again you can dare to be different and go against the grain in other words and get the SS to see how far you guys can take it.

Hell, the aftermakret and DCX listened to us SRT owners and look where it got us now! We have so many different performance routes we can take, its crazy. So perhaps they will do the same for the SS owners out there...you never know! ;)
Well you have to understand, I love the Cobalt SS but I REALLY LOVE the Camaro SS!!! Like I said Ive been droolin for one since I was like 15! But I would ratehr have the Cobalt, that way I know what my car has or has not been through. Being that they dont make the Camaros anymore then I would have to go used, Ive done used and now I wanna go new!!!
Yeah about the here because i love the Cobalt SS and i am very in love with the 69 Camaro's but i will get my Cobalt first but then i will get myself a 69 Camaro when i can afford to drive a car with a V-8! :D
Yeah the gas mileage is a definite plus for the four banger!!! :D
As is the torque on the Camaro!

Yeah i know but right now i kind need some good gas mileage to get around because anywhere that i might get a job i would need to drive like 20+ miles
i get 24mpg in my 99' Trans Am... And that is city driving, on the highway I can pull 28-29 mpg... My situation is when I pay off the Trans Am, its hitting the shop for some "serious" attention and I'm going to need a daily driver...

enter SS Cobalt...

Oh and you guys are right, torque is where its all at... Which is why I'm going to always atleast have one V8 in my possession...
I agree I got a camaro im building but I also need a fast daily driver why I might get a cobalt.
