what up evertyone, i juss got my SS and i am still learning how to drive stick lol. anyway a brand new 8 cyl mustang pulls up to me and revs his motor. i didnt race him 1. i knew he would eat me alive. and 2. cause im knew at this whole stick thing so i def wouldnt stand a chance. im not really into the whole racing thing i would juss rather see how many people pull up next to me to see if i wanna race. anyway at the nextcorner he was juss grillin my car.

never had the V8 problem and don't plan on it.. they pretty much stay in the rearview.

If you wanted an SS for looks, you could have saved some money on the purchase price and insurance but just putting a body kit and some wheels on it. I've tried to get a new GT to go but they're always driven by old ass Ford execs around here. I'm not saying I'd stand a chance but he'd have to put more effort into beating me than he'd expect to and sometimes that's all you want. I'd probably get the.."that's a fast Saturn" comment at the next light.

Actually, I am planning on picking up an CSS next year (when I can get G85 and silver), but it is simply not that quick of a car. I imagine it will do just fine once modded, but until then I see it as a fun little commuter car. Looks good, drives nicely, gets reasonable mileage. I view it as having a nice little toy that just happens to not be slow. If I wanted fast, I would go and spend my 25 large on a used C5 and slap a s/c on it.

So I agree, it is a good looking little car, but I will not buy it for 'performance', but for looks and general refinement in the small car catagory.

It is a nice bonus that it is faster than most other little cars, but not my primary reason for getting one.

I sorta assumed that was the case for almost everyone buying one, or they would be lined up at the Dodge dealerships and getting an SRT-4.

You just hit the nail on the head buddy!! I bought mine based on style and potental. It is not that fast out of the box, but very respectable in the fwd sport compact category. It has the potental to run mid 14s stock and still get an average 25.5 mpg in city driving, with fairly heavy foot!!
