I drove this baby last week and it was fast... not quite as fast as the SS Supercharged, and a little slower than the Malibu SS but you get the idea.

I wish I took some better pictures... If you look closely you can see the edge of the low spoiler on the back, so it doesn't have the combat style spoiler like the Supercharged model. Also, you can see they added the tiny GM logo (many new models have this) just behind the front wheel and then the "SS" logo another 6 inches behind the GM logo. Otherwise, everything else seemed pretty much the same.

That's really fucking stupid to have a non s/c SS. Now when ricers beat one, they'll brag thewy beat an SS, and people will start thinking all SS's are slow

Honestly, it wasn't much slower than the supercharged SS... I think the clutch needs to be tighter on the s/c version too, a nice racing clutch would be awesome... but that's an entirely different thread.

Yes, that would be nice. Technically, I think the compression ratio on the 2.4 is too high for a supercharger, but otherwise it would be sweet.
Technically, it would be very easy for GM to lower the ratio on the 2.4L. How knows maybe in the future?? The torque on that thing would gobble up pavement!!
