I have a 06 LS and it does not have power windows or locks on it. For the price I got it for I knew that I could add those on later and well now I want to add power windows and was considering doing it myself. I was wondering if anyone else on here has added power windows to their cobalt I was looking at this kit here http://www.slickcar.com/productdetails.asp?ProductID=3275

So if anyone else has done this any advice or a how to would be appreciated

Well I thought about doing all of that myself for awhile and now im just going to take it to a shop to get it done. I dont feel confident enough to beable to do that myself even if I would like to. btw just to give you an idea of how much it costs, I am getting power windows, locks and keyless entry for $768, I wouldent be getting it done but my mom is paying half of it as a birthday present.

It would of been a better idea to buy it from the factory. If you are leasing or paying monthly payments $768 comes out to about 4 dollars a month. In my expierience aftermarket power windows, locks, and keyless entry are nothing but a pain in the ass after install.

None of the dealers around here install that stuff, and you cant get it from the factory on an LS. I could have paid for a higher model but that would have costed at least 1k more, im 17 and dont need higher payments. And really I could live with manual windows and locks for the time I have this car if I need to.

I'm in the same perdicament. Base Cobalt, no power windows. I had power locks installed when I got my aftermarket alarm system but don't have a switch for it. Oh well, I can live w/ that, but I still wanna know about the power windows.

I would use the money you are going to spend for the install and the parts for rims. Or maybe even a system. Power windows and locks are a nice feature but there are so many other cool things you could spend that on. Perhaps an aftermarket supercharger ???

Well im not into sound systems I dont even listen to music half the time im in my car. And also like I said I would only be paying like $300 of it. And that $300 I put into it I would get back when I sell the car. But anyway I put off getting those things done now, I dont know if I will have this car very long.

I don't know if I would spend money to put aftermarket power windows in...you'll lose $$ on the deal and in my experience you'll be unhappy with the work/quality.

Forced...where in South Florida are you..??
I have an old friend who owns a shop on US1 near 184th St., Dream Cars South...its been like 5 years since I have seen him. I think his name is Glenn..
There are a few shops down near Cutler Ridge that do work. I know of a dyno down there too.

Those are pretty much the reasons I put doing this on hold. There is a one year warrenty on the parts but im more worried about how it will do in 2years or something.

I live in coral springs, which is north broward county. I havent heard of that shop before but those places are south of me. I was going to get the work done at Ideal Automotive which is the place that about 3dealers recommended.
Where is the dyno that you know about at? My friend has been looking for one.
