Quarter-Max Racing - Jones, Stockseth and White, will campaign for the Hooters Drag Racing Series IHRA Pro Stock World Championship with this new 2005 Chevy Cobalt. Underneath the hood of the Quarter-Max Chassis & Racing Components Cobalt flagship is a brand new Sonny Leonard (Sonny's) Racing Engines 816 cid mountain motor lubricated with Royal Purple Oil, and topped with a set of Bob Book Racing Enterprises carburetors. The massive powerplant is saddled between a state-of-the-art RJ Race Cars, Inc. chassis and covered by an awesome, custom S&D Enterprises paint job. Strange Engineering has also played a major role in the project also.

Quarter-Max Racing is also very excited to announce the addition of new associate sponsor, RacingJunk.com for the 2005 season.

"We are very pleased to have RacingJunk.com as a part of our racing program this year. RacingJunk.com is the #1 performance racing classified site in America. There are over 30 page views per month on racingjunk.com, specializing in dragsters, hot rods, stock cars, muscle cars, funny cars, race trailers, haulers, toterhomes, stock cars, karts, street cars, pit equipment, trucks, RVs and more. We hope to bring more awareness to the drag racing community about their fantastic website and use this partnership to help both companies grow together, as they bring awareness to Quarter-Max Chassis & Racing Components in other venues." - Rickie Jones

"We've worked all winter to get the new car and engine completed, and it has finally all come together. All the key ingredients are in place and I feel we have a powerful combination. We have turned our focus on testing and R&D,and toward the success of our customers, as well as our own racing program. Our goal is to qualify at every race, maintain consistent low E.T.s, help our customers, and take each round, one at a time, and throughout the coarse of the year accumulate enough points to win the 2005 Hooters Drag Racing Series Pro Stock World Championship. The numbers already shown from other teams in pre-season testing has certainly displayed how quickly IHRA Pro Stock is developing, improving, and becoming more competitive. I'm really excited to get out and test next week and see how all the cards stack up." - Rick Jones

Pre-season testing is scheduled in Gainesville, Florida for the week of February 7. Tentative commitments have been made by John Nobile, Brian Gahm, John Montecalvo, Steve Spiess, Tony Gillig, Charlie Taylor & Dan Seamon, Rickie Smith, Charles Carpenter, and several Top Sportsman drivers.
