i have a 2004 ion redline and want to know when these cars are coming out!!! i have heard all kinds of rumors of more hp, less hp, more upgrades, etc...i personally are EXTREMELY exited to have the cobalt come out...to me it would basically be a driver on driver race if these cars were to race. when am i gunna see a cobalt ss on the streets?! what are the estimated hp and torque? are there any upgrades that are suppose to be coming out, if so are they for the redline also?...

Why wait, if you want some good compitition, go looking for some stock SRT's on the streets, that way if you win, you know that it was a driver's race, if you lose, then you know that you were the underdog anyways. So it's a win, win situation. But be safe, and careful.
Psi-i has a kit for redlines in development pushin it up to 18psi
Projected price: $700-$800

That price will get you, according to their preliminary estimates, fuel injectors, pulley, piggyback tuning module, and some new sensors for the engine. They have been real quiet on the EXACT parts, because they don't want other people to jump on it until the it's ready to retail. These same guys are developing the twin-charger kit for the Redline. Which is a turbo hooked up inline with the supercharger. I think it's alot of cash, but when you're the only game in town you set the rules.

I haven't done much research on the bottom end of the RL and SS but will it be able to handle that much boost? If so, how long would it last?? Is the block built as tuff as the SRT is?

At least, really, not just to bash. The crank is rated at some crazy number, over 500. The rods are supposed to be good to 350-400. The pistons are about the same. So it's built like a rock. Accorcding to GM, the stock internals are good for at least 350hp. I read a good article about the race development of the Ecotec 2.0. It was tough. They were logging 500 hours on a stock one with some crazy amount of boost, got it up to the high 3's before it finally went. It was designed from the ground up for this app, so they built it right. The difference in the internals of the bottom end, from the salt flat racer to the regular Ecotec, is not much, mainly the rods.
are the cobalt and redline rated that high or just the cobalt, or do you know?

Sorry KSE, thats just what PsiFi said. They aren't done with the kit yet. The guy said he's just guessing on a price. But I have also heard that they werethinking about doin a twin charging system on the SS's/Redlines!!!
Sorry guys! I COMPLETELY missed Spooner's post.
But obviously he's heard more about it than I have, so I'd say take his word for it. ;)

his redline wont quite hang with the srt-4, maybe when the aftermarket catches up it'll be able to give a stock srt-4 a good run. same for the cobalt, from what ive been reading. but i respect both cars.

Mark from PSI-Fi replied to my pm with some pretty good news:

we are shooting for a 20 psi base kit. power goals in the base kit are definitely 300+whp. we just completed the basic upgrade package(pulley, fuel, tuning and associated parts) and another redline/cobalt project is 1/2 through. we should start on prototyping the twincharger in about 2 weeks. we already have the custom turbo spec'd out and in production for this kit as well as a pretty good grasp of the fueling that will be needed.

Whats up man? I've heard a few rumors sayin that you guys were working on a turbo setup to go along w/ our superchargers, but I haven't seen any concrete material proving this. I was just wonderin if it was true and how long it will take to develop? Also what kind of power output are you guys lookin for?? Sorry to be so bothersome, but I was just curious.
Thanks in advance for any help or answers,
Chris
