I am thinking about removing the spoiler off my SS, My questions are A)Its not functional is it? B)Is it just a matter of unscrewing it?

A) nope.. it serves no purpose
B) nope.. u have to unscrew thru the trunk, and then ther is double sided tape u have to yank the spoiler form. its a pain in the ass but you will get it.
Some one on here already did it.. http://www.cobaltss.com/forums/showthread.php?t=693&highlight=removing+spoiler

If you read thru the whole post you will see he eventually put it back on
yea because it looked bad with it off... lol
I think you should remove it and then maybe go with the RK Sports Spoiler...thats what I'm thinking about doing...plus I would like to see some real pictures of how it looks :D
spoiler delete should be a no cost option from the factory, i would guess that in later model years it will be. it looks stupid and is dead weight.
Thanks everyone who replied...must do some thinking now.

Take it to a few body shops. Around here it would cost about $300 USD to have them remove it, fix the holes, and re-spray the lid to match.

If I wanted a 2 door Cobalt, that's what I would have had to do. I am not 16, or trying to live this Suburban facade what I have some kind of race car or ralley car like the kids around this area with their civics and WRX's.

I'm not a fan of the shopping cart handle wings.

Cheers!
Do what I did for my Redline. Find the same car without and just swap the trunks. Hell the dealer may do it for you as well. because once you remove the spoiler there are still holes.
The wing maybe functional at high speed's but at normal speeds no.
But i would just leave it alone untill you decide what you are going to do with it.
