Just wrapping up work on Friday night, heading home to head out on the town, when we got severe Thunder/Hail storm and flash flooding warnings!

In an absolute panic I raced home for the comfort of my garage, but alas it was too late. The golf ball+ sized hailstones gave my shiny toy some unnecessary body work

I was lucky I only took about 15 semi-noticable dings, and compared to some others cars I saw on the street, I was VERY lucky. The hail lasted 45 freaking minutes! I only was out in the elements for 5 mins before I raced up my driveway to safety.

Thankfully my Insurance is out of town and wont have to deal with the other 40000 people in town working their agents over tomorrow!

I'm stilled royal pissed about it tho ;), but went to my brothers golf tournament, won, and won the door prize a nice new 700$ stainless BBQ. /shrug what a bizarre 24 hours it was!

Well I went and washed and shined my car yesterday to survey all the damage I may have took, and got to talking to "random 17 year old". Needless to say he loved the SS. Said his friend bought one a few weeks ago at the dealer in town. I asked him what color it was and he said Blue. Well that was the only other one in town, until he crashed it........Rearended someone when he supposedly dropped something and decided the best thing was to go hunting for it while cruising at 80km. Guess I am the only one in town rolling atm!

How is the flooding in Alberta anyways? My bro lives there and hes been here for the last 2 weeks he just went back to his house today and he was a little worried to see what state his car/house was going to be in. He lives right in Calgary so I dont know how bad it was there.

Last week-end they had some street flooding all over town as a slow moving rainstorm passed through. Lots of flooding all over Alberta, mainly in the rural areas, but really everyone is getting hit it seems. Medicine Hat was the only area Ive heard about getting the nasty hailstorm tho!

LIFE sucks!! car two months old.
I wouldnt say LIFE sucks, life only sucks when yours (or someone near to you) ends. Unfortunate events that happen in life suck sometimes. But hey look at it this way, if it wasn't for the rain the sun wouldn't feel so good. ;) You are experiencing a low time w/ your cars, just imagine the GREAT times you'll have cruisin the sunny weather when you get it back! ;)

LOL I got me crap-tacular Malibu #52. Woulda been nice if someone had told me that the body shop closes at 5pm instead of the standard replies of np bring it in, np at all, Ill be here when I said I'd be there 5:30 - 6, seeing as I had a 2.5 hour drive to get there after work. His a$$ got called back in, and yes he was displeased with that!

Otherwise finally got to let my SS's legs stretch out on some freshly paved Alberta #1 hiway straights. Cruising speed was a lovely 160kph between 4 of us and kilometers (miles for all my Yank friends) were been eaten up. About 45 mins into my week-end journey, I finally spotted random_civic_01 who in turn was to be my first actual "race" (noone in town has tried me yet :( ) More like I could hear random_civic_01 from 1000 yards away at 100mph lol. Don't get me wrong the car looked great and sounded loud and proud. (all the body kits and decals and such and not tooooo gaudy) I passed him slowly and pulled away into his lane. Kinda dissappointed for 10 mins or so, but hook was in and here he came and went, so I pulled in behind and let him know he wasn't getting away as he pushed to move ahead. Once again a tad dissappointed that random_civic_01 was all show and no go, as I pulled out and easily moved past. Ah well mebe Ill find another to go at, still have 175 kms to go. 30 mins later in the rearview I see green random_civic_01 coming up fast (guess he thought the downhill we were on would give him a hand) He screamed by (literally) Ok this is it as I pulled up even on the left (mebe he had something up his sleeve yet) I hear him open up and start to pull away, but alas Red SS had way more that he did, and with ease I whipped past him. Last I checked on the speedo was 230kph and there was still lots of leg left. GAve some thumbs up to each other and I was on my way! Good fun!

Anyway that was the first open road run Ive had with the car broken in and was a thrill on fresh pavement. Made up for the crappy service I had at the dealer later on.

edit:

I was very concerned that my SS would be governed at some silly 160 - 180kph. I was very pleased to see it is un-governed. ahhhhhhh

Called my dealers Body shop regarding my SS, and it has $3500 hail damage, the entire call will be stripped for a complete repaint other than the bumpers, mirrors, spoiler, trunk, hood. :( Insurance only covers 4 hours a day on work performed to the car? WTF And needs about 35 hours work. 2 weeks till I get it back :( Thats so lame!
