ss vs srt4

hey guys, I just got my first run-in with a cobalt...... and I wasn't even wanting to do it. I was praising the cobalt and this guy jsut kept talking chit about my SRT like it was some huge pile of crap, I blew that off the first few times, then he started pumping out false #'s, saying he has had it 14hrs so far and already tore another SRT4 a new one.
I kept saying nice ride, it looks good, I like this, like that, but he kept his bitching for no reason. Then his friend walked over and said, "So......do you really think that stupid orange neon is going to have any chance whatsoever against a supercharger?? Go look someone else jr. this is what the big dogs play with, run along now." end quote..... so I jsut turned my back to that guy while saying he had to be the most ignorant uninformed pile of a$$ I have ever heard, stating the Cobalt had more than 260hp to the front wheels, 18" rims made it faster off the line than a car with 17"s, the 2 less doors means its lighter, and the supercharger is larger than my turbo.
I told him that earlier in the week I had just pulled on a friends EVO and an STi from a roll, and to them I was wishing and dreaming lying out my behind and everything else.
We finally lined them up, he wanted from a 20 roll-80 we did this 4 times with the same result, I pulled a few car lengths on him every time and let off at 80 he kept it floored and did the usual flyby then claiming that he beat me2 of the 4 times because "the srt-4 lost torque in the upper rpm's and couldn't keep pulling faster" even though I hit 80, then tapped the brakes every time to let him know..... no I was wrong. This guy is awesome, everyone else around told him to shut his mouth but him and his best friend kept on, then with the lying afterwards. So next time there will definetly be video footage.
I told him about this site and was hoping that he would come in talking trash but I haven't seen him yet.
Oh yeah, he also told me a new Borla exhaust and pulley is going to put him into the low 13's possibly high 12's..... that's all only those mods nothing else. I will point him out once he joins so maybe someone can set him straight so he won't be such a douche. Just I try to tell him what I think he should do with his car, and because I have an SRT and he has owned the SS for 13 hrs. I have no idea what I am talking about and he knows everything.... I love these guys.

Having both cars here, i try to correct misinformation, and show each cars strong points. Some people have thick heads though.

I knew I recongized that signature picture from somewhere ! I tend to float between both forums but it seems there are a few trouble makers everywhere you go.

As for the original post I'll never get why some people are under the assumption that the SS can destroy an SRT-4, I think they need to look up what "horsepower" and "torque" means and maybe then they'll get a hint . A lesson on "turbo" vs "supercharger" might also help them along in realising the inevitable. I like both cars for certain features but when it comes down to pure power numbers the SRT-4 definitely takes the win, but I'm still a Chevy man all the way .

I don't understand why everyone just can't get along and enjoy their cars rather than being out to attempt to prove a point. It's nice to hear that you have an open mind and can see the SS for what it is even though you are an SRT-4 owner, we need more people like that around the forums not to mention on the road. I'm with OJ in that I'd rather just check out the car and cruise around in a big happy domestic group rather than bickering back and forth amongst eachother.

Now if only I could get my friend off my kick with his 2003 Neon I'd be in my happy place. I've talked with him about the mods I plan on making to my car and now he's freaking out that it will be running about 245hp (maybe more) and can't seem to live with the fact it'd be faster. I'm looking at doing it to have a customized car not to make mine "better" than his, just so I have something I can call my own...not so I can tear it around the streets of London trying to get myself killed. Apparently buying the LS still can't keep me out of the apparent Dodge vs Chevy battle .
