Stones pounding the superchsrgers' intercooler

Anyone have a problem with stones making it through the large air scoop/hole in the front end ? I have 3 good blasts already and only 300 miles . I went to Menards and Home Depot looking for some sort of mesh/screen/stiff material that will still let air through and no one has anything .....Help ?
Thanks

i'll tell you what others have told me... get a custom-fit grille, but be prepared for a possible rise in temps... apparently people have been getting GM to pay half as well (search the forums) but, I bought the Mr. Grille billet grille at customcargrilles.com for about $100, figure if it rises temps too much i'll take it off during the summer, but in the mean time, it's a great way to protect the area. Again, search around on the forums, theres info out there...

best of luck, congrats on your purchase!
If you are worried about the bent fins, do yourself a favor and go to the autoparts store. Look for a tool used to straightin fins on radiators, it looks like a little comb. It has different teeth for different fin sizes, it will fix the bent fins and look brand new, if it puts holes in it, well you're on your own for that one. :)
someone correct me if i am wrong evrything i have seen on these cars and looking through the parts manuals at work, since i won't have mine until next week, isn't the car set up as follows. first meaning the very front of the car don't you have an A/C condensor then the heat exchanger then the radiator?

if this is the setup, again which i could be wrong then it is no different than any othr car as far as the rocks, pebbles and what not are only hitting the condesor only and not making it to the heat exchanger or intercooler.

please someone tell me if this is right or not
Yes its the condensor, intercooler is incorporated into the manifold... ;)
i thought it was intercooler in front and radiator behind it?
I'm assuming the SS is set up the same as the RL. The A/C condenser is in front. Mine is bashed all to hell (I have pics for anyone with a strong stomach). I would advise getting a grill for there. I doubt that it would have that dramatic effect on airflow especially if you get the smaller metal (not flattened).
Yeah, that's your A/C condensor, not intercooler core that's taking hits. I wouldn't be too concerned unless a stone actually pops a hole.
id still tell ppl its an intercooler since its cooler :D

unless that person actually happens to know and calls you on it. Then it doesn't seem so cool.
