I think all of us that are somewhat intelligent car enthusiasts can agree on the fact that the SRT-4 and the SS are both pretty sweet rides. I think we can also agree that all "reliable" sources (i.e. car magazines) and our own ability to do basic math (i.e. curb weight/whp) will tell us that the SRT-4 is a faster car. Boo-who-who, for all us SS owners. But most informed shoppers knew this fact when we bought our cars, and purchased them for different reasons. I personally liked the styling of the SS better and the fact that it had a bowtie on it.
With this said, can we maybe stay away from the “I smoked a viper” stories that everyone realizes are BS and maybe try to stick to some facts? None of this I ran a 13.9 but my dog at my time slip stuff?
Also, I feel it should be said that anyone with some drag experience who has traveled knows that depending on temp, elevation, humidity, track conditions, and driver, ETs in the 1/4 can be drastically different, so lets stop arguing over half a second here or there until we see some slips.

Why are you only talking about 2 cars? I would agree with your last paragraph. The first paragraph I wouldn't, I think the cars are nice for the price.

the srt-4 is a very very nice ride....i am a twin and my brother has an 04 srt. I love his car, it is very quick and just all around nice. Im buying a cobalt ss for the fact that its different... its quick ( personally i don't mind that its not as fast as my brothers), And I love how the cobalt is brand new....the neon has been around for a while now..but the cobalt is new and supercharged....thats just cool. Oh yea, and i agree...i hate people that say they raced this and that, and 1/4 got blah blah blah...and no proof. Cause whats the point of tryin to make yourself look cool. If you already got the SS then your cool enough, don't try makin it more that it is tho. peace
