I remember awhile back about someone wanting to know if you could find out your cars build date in VIN. I don't remember if anything came out of that but yesterday after waxing my car I noticed on the inside of the drivers side door there was manufactured by sticker and it had a date on it. For mine it's March '05. No exact date but hey atleast I know it was during the second month of production. Just thought it was a cool find. Sorry if this an already known fact.

I was one of 'em. On the inside of my door it says February 5th, but I thought they didn't begin production until February 16th?
I have got the build sheet for my car......it is a pink piece of paper that was in my trunk. MY build date was Feb 22.....it even has a time on it "07:32:02"

On this paper there is a sequence # 186302 <---- is this the sequence #of all the 'balts produced......surely it isnt the SS numbers.
my driver's door said May '05

all of them probably come in the trunk, but when the car gets prepped, it is probably thrown away. I was at the dealer when my car came off the truck ( i seen it coming down the interstate and followed to the dealership) I did not let them touch it, the only thing they did was check the fluids and do the mechanical part of the PDI. No wash, no clean, no salseman testdrives to rag the car out, i still have all the plastic including the seat, wing, headrest, right down to the protective pieces on the lower rocker panel. I was there for around 4 hours before al the papers were signed and i left. "Guess I am Lame also because my build sheet is also framed."
i would SOOO frame mine to.. i wish i had mine.. lol i saw mine the night it got there.. that night i got out of work went to the dealership after 10 at night to see if it was there and there it was all wrapped up in plastic... good ol times lol
Can I ask a guestion... Are ya going to frame the build date on every new car purchase?
Very gay ;)
I also have my buildsheet from my 2001 Camaro ss, and if you know anything about those, they are mite as well be made out of pure platinum, they are very rare and hard to come by one with the car (corvette owners can have theirs reproduced), most cars didnt come with one, some came under the rear passenger seat carpet, some behind the dash, some in glove box, i have even heard of one being on top of the gas tank when a guy replaced his fuel pump 9Dunno how true that is, but its possible) So, no i wouldnt frame just any build sheet just the cars i plan on keeping and having them respected. ;)
hell its not like everyone has theres, so who knows, it may become a rare thing in the future.
