I'm assuming there is a factory bov.

I wouldn't upgrade unless I added a different pulley. The stock valve is sufficient with the stock boost. If you mod later, you can/should upgrade bovs.

When you do, get something quiet. You don't want to detract from the whine of the supercharger.

No, from the factory there is something called a "diverter" valve. It has the same concept as a blow off vavle but a lil extra. It is a sort of vacuum line and once it senses 12psi it wont let anymore boost into the engine. This has been disconnected and plugged by several Redline owners and they have seen close to 15psi. But it also keeps boost out of the engine while shiftin like a bov would so Im not sure if its the safest thing in the world to disconnect?!?!?

Diverter valves are used in MAF sensor setups. They recirculate the vented air back into the system so the vehicle doesn't run rich.

It sounds like they may have an integrated wastegate into their system.

If they run a true diverter setup, you'd need to get one with a recirculation kit. VW owners have to do the same thing. HKS makes a good one with an integrated recirculation kit.

ok well all i want is a lil noise so is there something i can get? like what company makes a good bov for our cars. I kno i'm asking something stupid but this is my first forced induction car. And another question do you guys think an intercooler kit will be made for our cars?

Front mount intercoolers would be more reliable than an air/water. The air/water has alot of components that can fail. To make them very efficient, like in a racing setup, they need ice added to them.

I'm guessing the air/water is heavy too.

The stock IC is integrated into the intake manifold.

The HKS diverter makes a sound too.

The real question is: would you rather your car run right or make a whistle sound?

you got a goods point. umm now i know there is a cold air intake in development for the c/ss , will there be a bov adapter on that? i mean the pic for the red line cai looked like it had an adapter for a bov. i mean i love the whine of the s/c kicking in i just lik ethe fact of scaring people wit the bov for example like a dual chamber one.

You could twin charge your engine (Psi Fi is comin out w/ a kit) and then you could have S/C whine, Turbo spoolup, AND a blow off valve noises!
That would confuse the heck out of people because they would not know what was going on. They would hear a blow off valve then the whine.
