What kind of choices are there to be made when factory ordering? Like color and interior combo type of thing?
How about the performance package? Have you heard of it?
What percent is the GM employee discount, and is it off of the dealer invoice or MSRP?
There is no set GM employee discount, it's usually $100 over invoice at our dealership.
umm, there is a GM employee discount. My grandfather works at a plant and i'm positive my family get's at least a 20% discount, not sure if it's more then that, and not sure if it's off of invoice or it's MSRP.

Ok, Where I work there is no set gm discount, it's usuallu $100-150 above invoice, this is a dealership not a plant. :) No need to get rilled up.
Hello new member here and hopefully a future Cobalt SS supercharged owner. Just wanted to ask a question as to what dealers are planning on setting the price at for the Cobalt SS'. Reason is the deciding factor on whether i get a cobalt SS or not is that i want the payments to be at or under $300 a month with a $4000 down payment, so if anyone could put forth any knowledge of prices or offer any advice on getting a dealer down to invoice price it would be much appreciated.

I dont see why the payments would over $300 with a $4,000 down payment.

Alright cool, just wanted to be sure on that. Now to relearn how to drive stick, any suggestions on how to do that cause it's been quite a few years since i've driven stick, lol.
If you've driven it before, then there should be no forgeting, you get in and you drive, if you remember the basics than your body will do the rest.
Well i drove stick a few times but never mastered it and i will master it when i get my SS i will do the same thing my sister did when she got her Mazda RX-8(6-speed) and she NEVER drove sitck she was made to drive it home from the dealer because she wanted stick so she got it.
Thanks guys for all the help, i think this is the most helpful forum i've been to and i plan on sticking around because of it.
No problem, the hadest thing I found was getting going in a standard car, after that you press the clutch in and move the shifter, it's really simple just takes a while if you're new.
Hey that is why there is are forums they are places were you can find people that can try to answer your questions or just to talk about things. And in my opion this is forum has helped me out so much.
depending on how much u get it for... i cant see ur payments being less then 350, i had a 10k$ loan at like.9% and my payments started at 210 a month say u have a 18k$ loan that makes ur payments with any kinda interest percent more then 350... gl tho man, save up some more before the car comes out.. btw my parents got that loan % not me, my dad has amazingly good credit even tho he is like 10k in debt=) (besides my loan hehe) but yea im leaning towards the srt4 now, black srt lowered, black rims double limo on my windows and gonna try to see if ur able to get stage 2 from the factory, before i pick it up and include it on my payments.

yes, but you're forgetting the down payment which lowers the total cost of the car therefore take the Cobalt SS for instance. $21,995 then take $4,000 off that and devide what you get from that by 72 which is the maximum amount of months you can finance at and then add the percent the financing takes and you get pretty close to what the monthly payments would be. At least thats the formula i use and most of the time it's pretty close.
$18,000 financed over a period of 6 years at 6%, will be a $298.31 payment, that's assuming 22K for the car and a 4K down payment.
