I'm throwing this out to any of you in the know(i.e. GM dealers, employees,
etc....)

I've been reading about GM not taking orders for cobalt ss w/ performance
package (lsd/recaro seats)

My question,If my order is in the "system" (mine was placed 01/21/05)
and my dealer is just waiting for their allocation,(I don't have a build date
yet) is there any chance the car I ordered will be built for the 2005 run.

my car is a cobalt ss w/performance package, ebony on ebony interior,
sunroof, side air curtains. I live in the S.F. bay area.

any info will help,I'm nursing a 10 year old Geo Prizm and don't wan't to
throw more money into it than I have to. :( :( :(

1/21/05   You sould have a build date by now. Did you go to the biggest Chevy dealer near you?
The answer is no you won't get a 2005. My build date was 5/9/05 and was pushed back two weeks. The '06 starts production 6/16/06. Even with an '05 date, it may be that none get out.
With a wait this long for a cobalt, I'll remember to never even try and order a new corvette.
LOL yeah i know i would hate to know how long the wait is for the new Z06.
As long as you picked a dealer that can get an allocation then the answer is yes...

I dont feel like typing it all again so heres a link to a [post I just made about this

I ordered my car a month ago and it is supposed to be built this week or next. My dealer, chevy, and other people have confirmed it. So unless you picked the smallest chevy dealer you could find you should eb ok but wow thats a long time to wait.

thanks for the responses,I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My old car will
just have to hold out. If my cobalt has to be a '06 model,I may have to
shop around. :( to bad,my dealer is a good friend, and was going to hook
me up with a deal.
Yeah i am about the same boat as you i am hopeing after my car gets the tranny back in it after it blew it will last a bit longer now.
